These commemorative coins are dedicated to the 10th anniversary of currency reform in
Ukraine which resulted in putting into circulation the national currency unit -
hryvnia and its hundredth fraction - kopiyka.

On the obverse of both coins there is the Small National Emblem of
Ukraine, below - the image of the reverse side of the coin in
circulation "Volodymyr the
Great"; to the left whereof there is logotype of of the National Bank of
Ukraine Mint, to the right - the coin issue year - 2006. Around the coin
circumference there are the following inscriptions: on the silver coin -
ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of Ukraine) above, ÑÒÎ ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (One hundred Hryvnia) - below;
there is Ag 999, indication of metal and its fineness and 1000,0 g, the coin
weight in fineness; on the German silver coin: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ
(National Bank of Ukraine) -above and Ï’ßÒÜ ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (Five Hryvnia) below.

On the reverse of
both coins
in the center against the background of Ukrainian banknotes there is the
image of Kyiv type silver hryvnia of the 11th-13th centuries, to the
right whereof there is a shortened text of the Order of the National Bank
of Ukraine # 71 of August 26, 1996 "On Measures to Execute the Decree of the
President of Ukraine of August 25, 1996 "On the Currency Reform in Ukraine". Below there
is an image of subsidiary coins of Ukraine, above - the
semicircular inscription: 10 ÐÎʲ ²ÄÐÎÄÆÅÍÍß ÃÐÎØÎÂί
ÎÄÈÍÈÖ² ÓÊÐÀ¯Í (10 Years of the recovery of the currency unit
of Ukraine)
