he commemorative coin of 2 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to the
80th anniversary of the Battle of Kruty", the event, that came into
the history of Ukraine as a heroic deed of three hundred kyivan students, who
defended the Independence of Ukrainian People's Republic against offensive
Bolshevik troops.

On the coin obverse
there is a Small State Emblem of Ukraine against a background of a multifugured
composition, personifying the idea of the shot state rebirth: a column of the
armed young people is moving through the target center, designated with three
concentric circles. At the right and at the left of the picture there is an
inscription: 1918-1998. Around the coin circumference there is an inscription:
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ - above and 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ.- underneath in two lines.

On the coin reverse
there is a two-part composition, which reflects the historic moment of two
forces withstanding : the static figures of young heroes as personification of
defense of UPR Independence - at the left and a stretched arm which direct an
attacking mounted troops, as an allegory of Bolshevik intervention, - at the
right. Around the picture there is inscription: 80-в××ß ÁÎÞ Ï²Ä ÊÐÓÒÀÌÈ.
