On the coin obverse
in the center, there is a depiction of St.Sophia Cathedral, temple of Kyiv Rus
period, the pearl of old Russian architecture of 11th century, framed
with beads decoration. Under it there are inscriptions: the period of cathedral
foundation - 11th century, respective face value and the year of coin
issue. Above, around the coin circumference there is an inscription: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ.

On the coin reverse
there is a depiction of "Virgin Orante", the Cathedral's main mosaic in the
center of the vegetal circumference ornamentation. The figure of Virgin Orante
splits the horizontally located inscription
