The commemorative coins are dedicated to
restoration of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery,
the outstanding historical and cultural monument of Ukraine of the
11th-18th centuries.

On the coin obverse
within a frame of a baroque-like interpreted pattern ornamental there is a
depiction of the Small State Emblem of Ukraine and a four line legend:
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 100 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, 1998 (on the gold coin). Furthermore, on the gold coin there are symbol of the
precious metal - Au 900, and its pure weight - 15,55.
