The coin is dedicated to
500 Years to Ukrainian Cossack settlements on the territory of the present
Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which established later Kalmiuska palanqua
(administrative district) of Zaporizhia Army situated down stream.

On the coin obverse a conventionalized coat of arms of Zaporizhia Army
is depicted, left from which there is the small State emblem of Ukraine;
2005, the coin mintage year (beneath) and circular inscriptions: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ
(above), Ï’ßÒÜ ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (beneath), as well as the Mint logo of the National Bank
of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse
there is a depiction of a Cossack community headed by a foreman; left there
is a stone idol of Polovtsi tribe; under the composition there is a coat of
arms of Kalmiuska palanqua. Around the coin circumference there are
inscriptions: 500 ÐÎʲÂ
ÊÎÇÀÖÜÊÈÌ ÏÎÑÅËÅÍÍßÌ. ÊÀËÜ̲ÓÑÜÊÀ ÏÀËÀÍÊÀ (500 Years to Cossack settlements,
Kalmiuska palanqua).
