The coin is dedicated to the speckled salamander, a representative of Caudate amphibious
species, the only type of salamander species in the fauna of Ukraine, which natural habitat
covers mountain and submontane regions of the Carpathian mountains.

On the coin obverse
within a bead circle there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine is depicted,
above which there is the coin mintage year - 2003; circular inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ (above), 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ (beneath),
as well as designation of metal - Au 999,9 (left), its weight 1,24 g and the
Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine (right).

there is the salamander depiction, around which there are circular
inscriptions: ÑÀËÀÌÀÍÄÐÀ òà SALAMANDRA.
