The coin is dedicated to 50 Years of General Declaration on Human Rights.
The Declaration "as the task to be fulfilled by all peoples and states", was adopted by the Third Session of the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948 in Paris. Ukraine, which was a member of Unites Nations Commission on Human Rights, participated in preparation of the Declaration draft.

On the coin obverse in the center there is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine. Around the picture, there are inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 1998, 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ.

On the coin reverse against a background of the globe there is a depiction of the logotype 50 Years of General Declaration on Human Rights. Around the picture, there are inscriptions separated with a colon: ÇÀÃÀËÜÍÀ ÄÅÊËÀÐÀÖ²ß ÏÐÀ ËÞÄÈÍÈ and ÂѲ ÏÐÀÂÀ ËÞÄÈÍÈ ÄËß ÂѲÕ.
