The coins are dedicated to one of
the main events in the history of Christianity, celebration of which preserves
up to now many ancient folk customs, traditions and rites.

On the coin obverse
there is a depiction of the Christmas star - a traditional attribute linked to
the evangelic legend about Christ. In the middle of the star there is the small
State Emblem of Ukraine, above which there is the coin mintage year - 2002.
Surrounded by a conventionalized baroque ornamentation are inscriptions: on
the silver coin - ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 10, ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, as well as designation of metal - Ag 925
and its pure weight – 31,1; on the German silver coin - ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 5 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ.
On both coins there is the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse
there is a depiction of a traditional festive scene of the Christmas carol, in
the middle of which there is a crowd holding the Christmas star; around the coin
circumference there are inscriptions: ÑÂßÒΠвÇÄÂÀ (left), ÕÐÈÑÒÎÂÎÃÎ (right).
