Commemorative coins of 50, 10 and 5 Hryvnias denomination are dedicated to the official introduction of Christianity as the state religion. Volodymyr the Great and his nearest milieu adopted Christianity at the beginning of 988. In Spring  that year the kievites were baptized. It initiated the process of baptizing of the whole country.

On the coin obverse between two angel figures there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions:
on the golden coin - ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ and 50 / ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ / 2000, designation of metal: Au, its standard: 900, metal weight 15,55;
on the silver coin - ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ and 10 / ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ / 2000, designation of metal Ag, its standard: 925, its weight 31,1;
on the German silver coin - ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ and 5 / ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ / 2000, as well as the Mint logo on all coins.

On the coin reverse in the foreground there is a cruciform composition depicting Prince Volodymyr-the Baptist on the background of the scene of kievites baptizing and the conventionalized inscription: ÕÐÅÙÅÍÍß ÐÓѲ.
