The coin is dedicated to 100th anniversary of
Boris Romanovych Hmyria, bass singer, who achieved summits in the world masterly
performance. Working as a soloist of Kharkiv (1936) and Kyiv (1939-1957) opera
and ballet theatres he contributed to the world treasury of masterly performance
over 600 chamber works, 39 opera parts, 85 fragments from vocal -stage and
symphonic compositions. Boris Hmyria was given the rank of the Peoples artist of
the USSR (1951) and became a winner of the USSR State prize.

On the coin obverse
obverse a treble clef is depicted within the frame of wildflowers, above it
there is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine, beneath, there is 2003, the mintage
year is depicted and circular inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ (left), 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ (right), as
well as the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse
Boris Hmyria 's portrait is depicted, on its right there is a two-lined
depiction of the years of his life:1903 - 1969, beneath there is a facsimile of
the outstanding singer.
