The coin is dedicated to
110th anniversary of Boris Liatoshynsky, a Ukrainian composer and
a conductor; who was also a very talented pedagogue and founded his own
conductor school. Among his pupils were such composers as L.Hrabovsky,
I.Karabyts, V. Silvestrov, Y. Stankovych, I.Shamo and I.Belza, a musicologist.
He had composed two operas, five symphonies, chamber music, romances, piano
miniatures, etc.

On the coin obverse above there is a semicircular inscription ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ,
under it - the Small State Emblem of Ukraine. Upon the background of music
lines there is a depiction of a treble clef within an ornamental pattern
made up on motives of folk wall-paintings, above the music lines there is 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ,
the coin face value, beneath - the Mint logo of the National Bank of
Ukraine and 2005, the coin mintage year.

there is a depiction of a portrait of Liatoshynsky and semicircular
inscriptions: ÁÎÐÈÑ ËßÒÎØÈÍÑÜÊÈÉ 1895 – 1968.
