The coin is dedicated to the Ukrainian poet and song-writer Andriy Malyshko
(02.11.1912 – 17.02.1970). Malyshko's lyric works which were set to music by
the Ukrainian composer P.Maiboroda ("The Kyivan waltz", "Song
about rushnyk", "Small path", etc.) became folk songs.

On the coin obverse there are the following depictions: above - a
semicircular inscription ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ within the frame of a rushnyk (Ukrainian
embroidered towel), on which there depicted a conventionalized bird (left) and
flowers (right), as well as the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which
there is a three-line inscription: 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ 2003 and the Mint logo of the
National Bank of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse
there is a portrait of Andriy Malyshko; on the background there is a country
landscape: to the left - the sun and trees, to the right - a peasant's hut
and mallow flowers; beneath there are semicircular inscriptions: 1912-1970, ÀÍÄÐ²É ÌÀËÈØÊÎ.
