The Balance of Payments data for 2004 and Q1-3, 2005 for Travel services were revised using new methodology of estimation based on quarterly data on number of foreigners and Ukrainians crossing the border (classified by country and purpose of travel), average time of stay, and average expenditure per trip. Data on the number of travellers are obtained from State Boarder Administration of Ukraine. Sources of data for estimating average time of stay, and average expenditure per trip are – Cabinet of Ministers regulations on reimbursement of expenditure on business trip, SCSU surveys data, data from State Service on Tourism and Resorts of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine, Internet and mass media data.

According to the recommendation of technical assistance mission IMF on balance of payments statistics amounts of fictitious transactions with equity securities in resident enterprises designed for capital flight purposes for 2004 and Q1-3, 2005 were reclassified and removed from Portfolio investment, domestic securities, equity securities  to Other investment,  assets.

The Balance of Payments data for 2003 for items Goods and Services were revised because of change in method of estimation freight and insurance on imports. Adjustments of import to f.o.b. value were made based on SCSU survey on value of freight and insurance in import of goods for 2002 and value of gas transportation from Turkmenistan. Data on s.i.f./f.o.b. adjustments related to nonresident carriers were included in transportation services.

Putting amendments to the articles "Transfers" and "Services" of 2000 "Balance of Payments" is executed according to data adjustment on technical aid received by Ukraine from nonresidents in 2000 which was made by  Ukraine Ministry of Economics and on issues of European integration.
