Jubilee coin of 5 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to 2500 Years of the
ancient town of Yevpatoria. At the turn of 6-th and 5-th centuries B.C. in the
period of Greek colonization, an ancient town of Cerkinitidus appeared there. It
was first mentioned in written sources by Hekateus of Milett, later - by
Herodotus, Arrian. Now, Yevpatoria is the all-Ukrainian children health resort
and balneotherapeutic health resort.

On the coin obverse
there is a conventionalized depiction of the sun and sea, above - there is the
mintage year of 2003 is depicted, under which there is the Small State Emblem of
Ukraine, inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 5 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, as well as the Mint logo of the
National Bank of Ukraine. |

On the coin reverse
upon the sea background at the coin's upper part there is a collage made of
depictions of architectural monuments and modern structures; at the centre there
is a two-lined inscription: ªÂÏÀÒÎвß, 2500 ðîê³â, in the foreground there is an
amphora with a sea- gull sitting on it.
