The coin is dedicated to one of the outstanding monuments of the Ukrainian
architecture of the 18th century in which some specific features of
the West-European Baroque are brilliantly used. L' viv cathedral was founded by
a metropolitan Atanasiy Sheptytskiy. It was constructed in the years 1744 - 1761
according to the design project of Bernard Meretin, the most
distinguished architect of the Right Bank Ukraine of the time.

On the coin obverse
a statue of St.Yura is depicted (Johan Pensel, 1759 - 1761); on the
cathedral front (left from the statue) there are the coin mintage year – 2004,
the small State Emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ (semicircular,
above), 10 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (beneath), as well as designation of metal – Ag 925,
its pure weight – 31,1
and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
