The coins are dedicated to a mammalian of cetacean species, a representative of
the dolphin family in the fauna of Ukraine, a narrow-areal relic subspecies,
the habitat of which is the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Azov Dolphin is
registered into the Red Book of Ukraine and into the European Red-List.

On the coins obverse
within the frame of a window made of images of some species of flora
and fauna there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine is depicted and
four-lines inscriptions: on the silver coin - ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 10 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ,
2004, as well as designation of metal Ag 925, and its pure weight – 31,1;
on the German silver coin – ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ, 2004.
Furthermore, there is the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine on both
coins. |

there are two Azov Dolphins are depicted with air bubbles, beneath - there is
a seaweed bush and circular inscriptions: ÀÇÎÂÊÀ (right) and
PHOECENA PHOECENA RELICTA ABEL (left). |
