Commemorative coins of 10 and 2 Hryvnias denomination are dedicated to Larix
Polonica Racib ( Pinaceae family), a disapearing species of precious softwood
conifer which is widespread in Ukrainian Carpathian mountains and is entered
into the Red Book of Ukraine. Larix Polonica Racib is cultivated in forests,
parks and botanical gardens, in particular, in Kedrynskiy and Skyt Maniavskiy
forest reserves.

On the coin obverse
within the frame of a garland made of depictions of various species of flora and
fauna, there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine and four-line inscriptions:
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 10, ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, 2001- on the silver coin, as well as designation of metal
and its standard - Ag 925 and its pure weight - 31.1; ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 2, ÃÐÈÂͲ, 2001 -
on the German silver coin. On both coins there is also the Mint logo of the
National Bank of Ukraine.
