The commemorative coin of 10 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to the rare
species of falcons which inhabits virgin Ukrainian steppe - Aquila Rapax, the
largest number of birds are kept and bred in Askanya Nova Zoo. In 1980 Aquila
Rapax has been listed in Red Book of Ukraine.

On the coin obverse
the Small State Emblem of Ukraine is surrounded by the garland combined from the
images of selected species of Flora and Fauna. The inscriptions in four lines:
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 10, ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, 1999- on the silver coin, as well as designation of metal
and its standard - Ag 925 and its pure weight - 31.1;
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 2, ÃÐÈÂͲ, 1999 - on the German silver coin.

On the coin reverse
there is the image of Aquila Rapax in Askanya steppe. Around the circumference,
there are inscriptions: ÎÐÅË ÑÒÅÏÎÂÈÉ and AQUILA RAPAX.
