The commemorative coins of 10 and 2 Hryvnias denomination are dedicated to Lynx lynx, belonging to Carnivore species. This precious furry animal inhabits mostly the Ukrainian Carpathians mountains. Its small population is preserved in forest sections which is difficult of access in Manevytskiy district of Volyn region. The animal is registered in the Red Book of Ukraine.

On the coin obverse within a window frame formed by some species of flora and fauna, there is a depiction of the Small State Emblem of Ukraine and the four line inscriptions:
on the silver coin: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 10, ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, 2001, as well as Ag 925, designation of metal and 31,1, its weight;
on the coin made of German silver, there is an inscription: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 2, ÃÐÈÂͲ, 2001 and on both coins there is the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse there is a lynx depiction with a lynx-cub sitting on a twig and circular inscriptions: above - ÐÈÑÜ ÇÂÈ×ÀÉÍÀ, beneath - LYNX LYNX.
