The coins are dedicated to SPALAX ARENARIUS RESHETNIK, a rare species living
only in the territory of Ukraine, which is included to the Red Book of Ukraine
and the European Red List of animals and plants under the danger of
extermination.

On the coins obverse within framing of images of some species of
flora and fauna there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine and a four line
inscription: on the silver coin: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 10 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, 2005, as well as Ag
925, the designation of metal and 31,1g, its pure weight; on the German
silver coin: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 2 ÃÐÈÂͲ, 2005. Furthermore, there is the Mint logo
of the National Bank of Ukraine on both coins.
