Commemorative coin of 5 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to transition to the
third millennium, which is associated among the peoples of planet with
expectations for peace, understanding between peoples, for better life, where
harmony and prosperity will reign.

On the coin obverse
on the background of a mirror there is a depiction of the vivid three-petal
ornamental pattern, formed by three semicircles, symbolizing the triunion of the
past, the present and the future. In the middle of this ornamental pattern there
is the small State Emblem of Ukraine. Among the petals of this ornamental
pattern there are circular inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 5, ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, 2000 and the logo
of the Mint of the National bank of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse
there is a conventionalized figure of a sower, walking along a tillage and
sowing the seeds of all "reasonable, good and eternal" for those people who are
to live in the next millennium. Around the circle there is an inscription: ÍÀ
ÌÅÆ² ÒÈÑß×Î˲ÒÜ.
