Commemorative coin of 5 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to entering into the
third millennium, which is associated among the peoples of planet with
expectations for peace, understanding between peoples, for better life, where
harmony and prosperity will reign.

On the coin obverse
on the glass background within the internal ring there is a depiction of the
spirals forming an egg and symbolizing a powerful breath, which life gives to
all things joining them together; human life spiral, spiral motion, constant
address of a human thought to spiral system. Within the external ring,
above there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, the circular inscriptions:
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ, 5, ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ, 2001 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of
Ukraine.

On the coin reverse
within the internal ring there is a depiction of a Mother-woman with a baby -
symbolizing continuity and never-ending of life; within the external ring there
is a depiction of a symbolic star, around the circle there is an inscription: ÍÀ
ÌÅÆI ÒÈÑß×ÎËIÒÜ.
