The coin is dedicated to a Ukrainian folk stringed musical instrument.
Bandura is one of the most popular Ukrainian folk instruments and is famous
since 15th century.
Since 20-s of the 20th century bandura playing has experiencing revival.

On the obverse relief
surface, which symbolicaly depicts bandura strings, a Ukrainian song is
reproduced as a conventionalized Baroque ornamentation. Above there is the
small State Emblem of Ukraine, conventionalized inscriptions in Cossack type
- ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ; beneath: 2003, the coin mintage year, 5 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ and
the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse
bandura is depicted; around circumference there is Baroque ornamentation and
a conventionalized inscription in Cossack type ÁÀÍÄÓÐÀ.
