The commemorative coin is dedicated to the Year of the Pig – one of the years
of the Chinese calendar based on the twelve-year cycle of the Jupiter

On the obverse of the coin,
bordered by a primitivism style vegetative ornament, there are the
inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ / 5 / ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (Ukraine, 5 hryvnias); above – the Small
National Emblem of Ukraine with the inscription over it: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ
ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (National Bank of Ukraine), below – the year of the coin issue –
2007, the indication of metal and its fineness – Ag 925, weight in fineness
– 15.55 and the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.

On the reverse of the
coin there is a lubok-print-like depiction of a pig surrounded by
conventionalized vegetative ornaments. Above and below this composition
there are small silhouettes of all 12 animal symbols of the Chinese
calendar.
